The Bee’s Knees cocktail

Ingredients:

three lemons

one ounce local honey

two ounces Hendrick’s gin

one cup ice

one orange

Instructions:

First, you’ll create a simple syrup with the honey. Combine equal parts honey and boiling water. Stir well. Jar and refrigerate the syrup. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine one ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice, one ounce of your honey simple syrup, and two ounces of gin. Shake well and strain into a glass of fresh ice. Garnish with one orange wedge.

I’ve already planned my first trip - lunchtime ride from my office to No 7 sub. which, conveniently, has a citibike rack right near it too… (yes, i can walk there - and have - but between the walking time + the waiting time, i end up having no time to eat!)

also, this means i need a bike helmet to keep at work…

I went to a icelandic horse event this other day and took a few pictures and videos. Here. Have some damn delicious horses in tölt, pace and canter.

Years of horse showing makes me look at these gifs and think one, and only one, thing… These dudes are all way too big for these ponies…

The icelandic horses have very strong backs and can carry 90 kg if not more. Although they are the size of a pony, they are called horses because of their strength. :)

OH - I didn’t mean that the guys were hurting the ponies! but i grew up riding & showing English (hunters & equitation) in the US… and in that environment, this wouldn’t have flown.

I had to (did not want to…) sell my 14.1 hand pony when i was 12 (and probably about 5’6”) and get a 16 hand horse because i was too big on the pony for it to look appropriate in equitation classes… I suspect these guys are taller than I was at that time, so in my brain, using my frame of reference, they’re too big… That’s all I meant…
